Giving the finger to readers

Don't you love reading The Record of Woodland Park, which thinks the front page is a good place for just about anything? But, quick, turn to Page A-6 today for the shocking photo of a suspect in a painkiller ring giving the finger to Staff Photographer Tariq Zehawi, in living color and despite handcuffs.

When the photo came to the attention of North Jersey Media Group Vice President Jennifer A. Borg this morning, she tried to reach an editor. I don't know if she was successful or found that all the editors were taking Incompetency Training. It would be a simple matter to crop out the red-haired woman, so was the photo run intentionally?

"Drug sweep nets 55" takes up so much of A-1, it crowds Governor Christie's budget rampage to the margins of the page. The governor is succeeding in his bid to screw just about everyone but wealthy families like the Borgs. A lower fare hike for bus and train riders is relegated to a promo at the bottom.

Local is filled with court, crime and accident news -- standing in for stories about Hackensack, Teaneck, Englewood and many other towns. I guess it's the editors way of saying to readers, F.U.
