Hole in A-1 story is big enough to drive Christie through

What was planned as an indoor ski slope at the American Dream entertainment and retail complex in the Meadowlands almost looks like a finger being extended into the side of the football stadium used by the Giants and Jets.

Did Staff Writer Rebecca D. O'Brien of The Record attend the same press conference on federal Sandy recovery grants as reporters for the New York Post and WNYC-FM?

You can't tell from O'Brien's Page 1 story today in The Record, because hundreds of millions given to protect Hoboken, Weehawken and Jersey City seem to be only a footnote.

In fact, O'Brien doesn't even mention that Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer was in the audience as Governor Christie joined federal and local officials for the dog-and-pony show in Little Ferry.

This morning, WNYC-FM (New Jersey Public Radio) made much of her presence and accusation that the Christie administration threatened to withhold Sandy aid, if she didn't back a development project in her city.

The Post also covered the Hoboken angle.

Today's Road Warrior column mentions license plates are still made by prison inmates in New Jersey, but not why we should care about the switch to flat digital plates (A-1).

Who is the moronic editor who thought the change deserved to be on Page 1?

Staff Writer John Cichowski  quotes Tom Grilli, a Ridgewood resident who claims other states "have much better-looking plates."

Surely, Cichowski and Grilli must have seen our gorgeous shore, conservation, Battleship New Jersey and other plates.

Why aren't they mentioned?

I've been using the same conservation plates with my initials for more than 15 years, and they still look great.
